In a bassline snipped and conjured up from an early-morning dream-state, “Livin’ Large” now lives as a studio recording, by my repeated attempts to sing or hum this bassline into a dictaphone, and then to “learn” to play it live (much later on, after numerous afternoon memory-jarring sessions at Santa Monica beach during the Summer of 2002).
The permanence of this track is assured by the more-than-20 individual vocal passes, attempting to crystallize this idea, and to give it a formal shape and color…
