The title addresses what is missing from the person the song was written for. I wrote the music very fast in January ’86, and played it for Chris Shaw, my producer, the same day. His reaction was strong enough that it was immediately added to the roster of songs to be recorded in the studio that June, including All of These Lines, You Wouldn’t Believe, Charitable Girl and Currency.
