Originally titled “Song For Maureen” and is notable as one of my earliest synthesizer compositions, as well as the first one to be recorded on my recently acquired 4-track home studio system. I tracked it fairly late on the weekend when I bought the stuff. At that time, Prince’s “Purple Rain” was big on the charts, and I had just been to see the film earlier that night.
When I first recorded the piece, earlier that year, it was in my front room using multiple cassette recorders, one of them playing a prepared ambience track of synthesized waves washing about in stereo, while I overdubbed the new synth parts live. A crude version of that recording still exists somewhere, I believe.
