In 1984, I devised the nickname for a condition which I called “The Jump-Syndrome,” which afflicted people in various walks of life, making them unbearably anal and predictable; also destroying their lives and leaving them as feeble-minded idiots in the eyes of the rest of the world, a condition which they were largely unable to identify by themselves.
I wrote Did You Ever Stop as a Pink Floyd-esque tune; an intended part of the cure. Though I’m not sure that it really worked.
